With Love, From the Grand Tetons
Before we dive in, I’d like to make the candid note that Grand Tetons is Big Nipples in French. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and neither should you.
So, I don’t normally photograph weddings, unless it’s for close kin.
My sister in law, Katie, is in fact, closer than close. To save the spiel on the beginnings of our relationship, we basically bonded over the “I like that laugh” Justin Bieber meme and the rest is history. Literally. I knew from that day forward, even if her brother and I broke up, (spoiler alert: we didn’t and now we’re happily married) I would always be friends with her.
So you can imagine my excitement when Katie asked me if I would photograph their intimate wedding in the Grand Tetons, it was an immediate yes.
So a hop, skip, a delay, and a plane to the tiniest airport I’ve ever seen and we were in Jackson Hole, WY.
Just the casual view right outside our lodge.
Heart Six Ranch — our home for a few days.
The days leading up to the wedding were filled with hikes, watching bison cross the road, a bear siting, tasty breakfasts at the ranch, and views that left all of us speechless.
With the wedding day here, the sun shining, and everyone buzzing, the day begun with making corsages, bouquets, and an intricate ring holder. All done outside and in the back of a pick up truck, I might add.
The mother of the bride & bride creating the most gorgeous florals.
Peep the rings!

Stunning moments before she walked down the ‘aisle.’
His face really says it all.
Vows with a view.

I’m not crying, you’re crying! Okay, we’re all crying at this point. I can’t emphasize how perfect the weather was for their wedding. I am still awe struck when I look back at these photos (and not just because I shot them).
After the I do’s were shared, many hugs and well wishes were exchanged.
Now, the rest of the evening was finished off with an intimate dinner in downtown Jackson Hole, WY. Rounds of champagne and meaningful conversation were passed around the table.
However, before we went to dinner, Katie and Dave got some couple’s photos done while we were still in the park.
She even changed into a shorter dress which made the picture taking a lot easier in the terrain. I would also like to note, we did this dress change in a park port-a-potty. It was truly a bonding experience. Let’s move on.
The happy couple.
I don’t think I really need to say more. It was a beautiful day to capture and they truly are living happily ever after.
Many thanks to the park rangers and the scenery. I hope I captured it’s awe just a little bit.
